Cold Plunge Therapy
If you need help recovering from an injury, could use a boost of energy, or need some mental clarity, come brave the cold plunge at Salt of Earth Spa. This state-of-the-art experience is designed to help you feel your best.
What is Cold Plunge Therapy?
Cold plunge therapy is a simple but powerful wellness practice that involves immersing your body in cold water for a short period of time. The sudden cold exposure might feel intense at first, but it will quickly sharpen your senses, release endorphins, and send a rush of energy through your body. Your blood vessels will also constrict and then expand, improving circulation and reducing inflammation.
Benefits of Cold Immersion
Cold therapy can:
- Reduce Muscle Soreness
- Improve Mood
- Aid Your Immune System
- Boost Your Metabolism
- Decrease Inflammation
- Improve Your Sleep
- Sharpen Your Mental Focus
How to Prepare for a Cold Plunge
For the best experience, wear a swimsuit and bring a towel and warm clothing for after your session. Beginners should only stay in for 30 to 60 seconds and work themselves up to 2 to 5 minutes. Focus on deep breathing, relaxing your muscles, and easing in slowly. Afterwards, warm up gradually with light movement or a warm drink.

Float Spa in South Weber, UT
South Weber, Utah, was incorporated in 1938. It has a population of a little over 8,000 and provides the perfect combination of scenery and small-town charm. It is known as the Windy City because of the strong winds coming down from the mouth of the Weber Canyon.
In February 1980, for one week, many residents reported seeing the legendary Sasquatch while feeding their horses. They also claimed they smelled foul “bigfoot” odors and found large patches of strange fur throughout the community. Although they never captured an animal, the legend continues to live on. In memory of the sightings, a resident constructed a statue of Bigfoot on his property at the west end of town, which has become a beloved part of the community.
If you want to explore the beautiful Weber Canyon, consider taking a scenic drive. Interstate 84 runs up the canyon and provides a mellow drive, where you can view large aspen groves, giant cottonwoods as well as maple and oak trees. About 12 miles up the road sits the Smith and Morehouse Reservoir and Ledgefork Campground, perfect for those who want to spend the night and hike into the western edge of the Uinta Mountains. To see the stunning autumn colors, take a drive in late September.
