Float Spa
What is Floating?
Floating is a very effective method for stress relief and relaxation. The floating tub has 10 inches of water saturated with 1000-1500 pounds of medical-grade Epson salt, thus creating an incredible buoyance in the water where you float effortlessly. This is also known as a microgravity environment. The water is heated to skin temperature (93.5-95.00F), so once you are settled in, you will lose the sensation of where your body ends and the water begins. With no tactile input, the parts of your brain responsible for processing touch can essentially “shut off,” leading to a deeply calming experience.
About Float Senses
You can further enhance your floating experience by controlling sensory input, which allows you to create an environment of sensory deprivation. By adjusting the lights and sound/music to your preference, you can reduce external stimuli and further relax. However, some people experience heightened senses during their float, with reports of even hearing themselves blink. This unique combination can lead to a deeply meditative and calming state that helps you relax and clear your mind.

Float Pain Relief
Float therapy has been shown to relieve chronic pain by easing muscle tension and improving blood circulation. The high concentration of Epsom salts in the water creates a buoyant environment that takes pressure off joints and muscles, allowing the body to relax deeply. This can be especially helpful for those with conditions like chronic back pain, tension headaches, and fibromyalgia.
During a one-hour float session in a microgravity environment, you can escape from daily stresses and interruptions, giving your body and mind the chance to reset. The sense of calm that follows has lasting effects, and the more you float, the greater the long-term benefits.

Health Benefits of Floating
Mental Health
Research has shown that floating can significantly reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. The sensory-reduced environment promotes a deeply meditative state, allowing for profound relaxation and a heightened sense of well-being. EEG brain mapping has demonstrated that floating triggers a shift in consciousness, fostering restfulness and relaxation. This process helps improve mood and overall mental health to offer relief from symptoms like anxiety and stress. Research shows that floating can lead to long-term improvements in mental health and be a powerful tool for enhancing your well-being over time.
Stress Relief
In today’s fast-paced world, we’re constantly bombarded with tasks and stimuli both at work and at home. This can lead to elevated stress levels, which, if left unmanaged, can result in burnout, anxiety, and depression. Research shows that regular floating can significantly reduce stress by helping restore balance in our lives. Floating has been shown to lower stress hormones like cortisol, reduce adrenaline levels, and even help lower blood pressure—physiological changes that promote relaxation and prevent burnout and chronic fatigue.
Sleep
Sleep problems have become a worldwide epidemic. Many of us struggle to fall asleep, don’t feel rested when we wake up, or face chronic insomnia, all of which can negatively impact our mood and productivity the next day. Regular floating has been shown to significantly improve sleep quality, helping people fall asleep faster and even reduce insomnia. The floating experience, known as Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy (REST), creates a deeply meditative state that promotes restfulness. Research indicates that floating alters brain wave activity, mimicking the early stages of sleep, where heart rate and blood pressure drop, including a deeply relaxed state. Studies have shown that this state supports better sleep, helping you fall asleep more easily and experience more restful sleep overall.
Mindfulness & Inspiration
Floating is an effective way to enter a mindful, meditative state that can foster inspiration. It works in two key ways. First, it brings the brain into a “Theta” state—a lower frequency associated with relaxation, creativity, and visualization. This state is reached effortlessly during floating. Many people report feeling a greater sense of mindfulness, calm, and even experience bursts of inspiration after their session.
PTSD
Trauma can deeply affect both the mind and body, causing lasting, debilitating symptoms. Floating has shown promise in helping manage the effects of PTSD. Trauma often alters the body’s sensations, leaving the nervous system “stuck” in a heightened state. The floating environment, which minimizes sensory input, helps reset the body’s sensory system. This calming effect can aid in reversing some of the psychological and sensory impacts of trauma.
Research using fMRI scans reveals that trauma impacts the amygdala, the part of the brain responsible for the fight-or-flight response. This heightened state can cause the body to react with anxiety, even when no real danger is present. Floating has been shown to help calm the amygdala during and after sessions, reducing the overactive fight-or-flight response. Over time, this can lead to a significant improvement in overall mental well-being.
Sports – Athletics Performance/Recovery
Floating is an effective way to help athletes recover faster, both physically and mentally. Intense training and competition naturally lead to physical and mental fatigue, making recovery essential for peak performance. Float therapy supports this recovery process by promoting relaxation and restoring energy.
One of the key benefits of floating is its ability to improve sleep, which plays a major role in recovery. Floating creates a deeply meditative state that allows the body and mind to rest. Athletes can also experience a boost in energy and mood, and the effects of the float can last for days. Regular floating can even help reduce symptoms of insomnia, making it a powerful tool for ongoing recovery.
